The Earth Federation

In the Universal Century universe, the Earth Federation was established in 1999 AD. They play a major role in all wars in the UC universe as most wars in space are either caused by them, a faction who split off from them like the Titans who were an elite class of pilots and the antagonists of the Gryps War, or a faction that wants to take over earth. In the One Year War, the Earth Federation didn't have many mobile suits and were very vulnerable to attacks from the Zeon forces. The only mobile suit that they did have before the start of MSG 0079 was the RB-79 Ball which was a ball with an eye, arms and a cannon atop it meant mainly for construction. At the start of MSG 0079 is is shown that they've been working on three new mobile suits to fight the Zeon forces known as the RX-75-4 Guntank which was a tank with a humanoid body with four barreled missile launchers on the ends of the arms and cannons on it's shoulders and was meant for land battles, the RX-77-2 Guncannon which was a full humanoid mobile suit with cannons on it's shoulders meant for land battles, but also cheap and replacable and could handle weapons with it's hands and climb with it's legs and the RX-78-2 Gundam which was their expensive humanoid bodied mobile suit equipped with beam sabers, beam rifles and a bazooka, each of which were developed off of eachother. In the end, the earth federation won The One Year War.
