About Us

Hello! Our names are Katie and Carley and we are a family run business who have grown up with dogs. We founded Doggy Duties back in 2011 when my sister and I made the huge decision to quit our corporate 9-5 jobs and do what we love for a living, working with animals.

We love spending time with animals (possibly more so than humans!) and are both KCAI qualified. We care for each and every dog as our own and between us have three dogs, Alfie the Miniature Schnauzer who is 8 years old, Arthur the Italian Greyhound who is 2 years old, and the youngest of the pack, Woody the Whippet who is just 12 weeks old.

We both own several training awards and are qualified in animal first aid, animal behaviour and animal care.

Arthur the Italian Greyhound

Arthur is two years old and is a grey coloured Italian Greyhound. He loves spending his time sleeping on the comfiest bed in the houses and believes that he should be treated like a king (which of course he is!). He enjoys running around in the fields, but only when the suns out! Arthur won't step foot outside if there's even the slightest bit of rain or if it's under 20 degrees! Arthur is allergic to pollen, so may have a sneeze on you but he doesn't mean it! Because of his allergies Arthur is on life-long steroids so is slightly overweight for an Italian Greyhound however the running in the field most definitely helps with his waistline. He likes to smile a lot as you can see in the photo and almost always has his nashers hanging out if you catch him at the right angle. One of his favourite things to do is sunbathe so you may catch him smoothered in suncream on a nice day!

Woody is the youngest pup that we've added to the family at just 12 weeks old. He's only recently had his injections so has only been to the field once but we can already tell he is going to love it! Woody likes to chew anything that moves, other than his own toys. He enjoys eating and being as naughty as possible. If you're human and give him any form of attention, he will love you. Whippets are very fast dogs and enjoy a quick 20 minutes exercise and then rest for the rest of the day. They can be very lazy dogs, especially as they get older and tend to live between 12-15 years old. Woody is grey in colour just like Arthur and has some white specs on him also! Fully grown Whippets are medium sized dogs and do not shed much hair. They are very loyal and caring dogs who tend to be quite timid. They don't have a 'doggy' smell to them and don't suffer from many health issues. Whippets are a smaller version of the greyhound. They are very elegant dogs and are a favourite breed for many people throughout the country and elsewhere in the world. They can run VERY fast with some reaching speads of 30 miles an hour which means that can be great racing dogs. They have long lean heads with a long nose. They have fine coats and can need a lot more protection in the coat, therefore if you ever catch Woody in the winter he'll probably be the most fashionable dog in the field with his wardrobe of coats to keep him warm! They can be are KC registered.

Alfie the Miniature Schnauzer

Alfie is an 8 year old miniature schnauzer who loves to play with his favourite teddy bear. You may hear Alfie before you see him as he likes to bark a LOT. However once he knows you, he is the biggest softy of them all! He is black and fluffy and has the sweetest eyes. As the oldest of the group he does tend to wander off to cool down when Arthur and Woody will go mental chasing each other around. Alfie hates bikes and will bark like crazy if he sees one. He's not that bothered by other dogs but loves people and craves attention from anyone who walks through the door. Miniature Schnauzers are gently and loving dogs and do not shed much fur which means they are an excellent breed choice for people with allergies. They are a German Breed and have a life span of aroud 10 - 12 years. They have bushy eyebrows and beards and are great with children. Their bodies tend to be quiet short and stumpy and can range between 12-14 inches in height and 11-20 pounds in weight. They are really friendly and can be a great addition to any home owner, and may be desirable for first time dog owners. They are easy to train as they are very intelligent dogs and eager to please however they can be stubborn also. Alfie is Arthur's best friend (although I'm not sure if the feeling is mutual) and Arthur will try and play with Alfie all day long. Even when Alfie gets into his bed, Arthur tries to join, much to Alfie's dismay!
