Completing my individual video presentation helped me develop my research, presentation, and communication skills. One of the most important parts of the task was researching my topic. I learned how to find reliable academic sources and distinguish them from less trustworthy information. Reading journal articles and other credible materials improved my understanding of the topic and helped me present accurate and well-supported information. Presenting my research was both interesting and challenging. I wanted to explain my ideas clearly while keeping my presentation organised and engaging. Recording the video also helped me become more aware of my speaking style, pace, and body language. I realised that confidence and preparation are essential for delivering an effective presentation. One of the main challenges I faced was managing nervousness while speaking on camera. I sometimes spoke too quickly and found it difficult to maintain consistent eye contact with the camera. Another challenge was summarising complex information without leaving out important details. I also spent more time than expected editing and re-recording parts of the presentation to improve its quality. To improve my presentation skills, I plan to practise speaking more regularly and record myself before future assessments. Watching the recordings will help me identify areas for improvement, such as my pronunciation, pace, and confidence. I also intend to improve my time management by starting my research and presentation preparation earlier. This will give me enough time to review my work and make necessary improvements without feeling rushed. To prepare for Task 3, I will continue developing my research skills by using high-quality academic sources and organising my notes more effectively. I will also create a clear presentation structure, practise several times before presenting, and seek feedback from my lecturer or classmates. Overall, this experience has helped me recognise both my strengths and the areas I need to improve, which will help me perform better in future academic presentations.
