Omosere Ogbevoen 2109240 BMSW4005 Open book assessment question Racist is the most relevant discrimination in the workplace, however some employers may use it as an excuse for the fact that nowadays there are strong movement as BlackLivesMatter(BLM), LGBT (lesbian, gay, bisexual and transgender) and women rights movement, these are the most followed movement about discrimination worldwide at the moment in 2022. They might feel discriminated because they have been accused about something they did not do, often picked for tasks none are usually picked for, not usually get promoted despite in this case Adam is the most senior staff in his unit. In summer 2020 the world discovered about BlackLivesMatter however the movement was founded time ago in 2013 by three black women Alicia Garza, Patrice Cullors, and Opel tomet, started because of police brutality in America and fighting for courts to treat black people equally. Its demands for equality also include mental health, the LGBT community and voting rights. Support grew following other police killings, including Eric Garner, who died in a chock hold and Michael brown, who was killed by an officer who said he acted in self-defence and went viral with for George Floyd who was killed from a police man while the suspect, George Floyd in this case, was unarmed. LGBT instead, the oldest use of the term to describe same-gender love has been traced back to the 17th century, but its modern use emerged in the 1890s. Working in the government department might be often stressful especially because in this type of working environment there is often people that are local in the place, so less diversity. Adam age should make him have more authority as he the most senior staff on his unit, although youngers might think that Adam has a old era mind so not useful for departments meeting about the future of the organisation or innovative meetings. Rising a case on your behalf against your colleague might same awful from for them ,because they could lose their job, but in this case if he raised a case it means something for him, although even if it was reported in another departments the whole workplace would know and one would like to be seen in certain way from their colleagues. There is no tolerance for discrimination, especially at work, Adam would like to be involved in any possible thing he thinks he should be involved, and if he thinks he has been discriminated from the other colleagues he should make a report to the manager, leaving the job would just make no difference because this will still happen in the future. Adam request just the minimum from his colleagues, and if nothing happens he should report it to someone with more authority than the manager because discrimination is not acceptable anywhere.
