for this project I wanted to improve my camera operator skills as they need a big amount of improving and for this project focusing on focus so for this project I decided to work on them and make a documentary about me working on those skills I learned a lot of stuff about how focusing is important and what its used for as well as how it works. Focus is used to help direct the viewers eyes to a specific item or thing that the film makers want the viewers to focus on or not and create mystery about the out of focus object.
I learned that focus is also used as it looks cinematically pleasing and also it looks nice to view. moving my camera and trying to direct the focus at different specific trees while rotating my camera I found very hard to do so within this film I did some research to expand my understanding of focus within the film media to improve it.
I found holding under the lens and close to the body to help with stabilization helped a lot and just take things slow with the movement and just take many attempts at trying to do the exact same thing helped improve my understanding on how to focus on different objects while moving.
a camera operators role is extremely important to get right on the first try within a professional environment so I am going to try to learn how to move with the camera and also how to shift focus while moving at the same time to attempt to improve my focusing skills. at the beginning of this project I wasn't good at focusing and now I am a bit better its going to take a lot of work and retries to master this.
