In this video, I\u2019ll show you how to add files and folders to your Moodle course page.<\/p>

Adding a file<\/strong><\/p>

In this example, I\u2019ll upload a copy of the Module handbook.<\/p>

  1. First, make sure Edit mode<\/em> is turned on. Then, go to where you want your file to appear, select the plus sign and choose Activity or resource<\/em>. From the list, choose File<\/em> and select Add<\/em>.<\/li>
  2. Give your file a clear, meaningful name: this is what students will see on the page and in the course index. In my case, I\u2019ll add: \"Module handbook\".<\/em><\/li>
  3. Add a short description or instructions in the Description field<\/em>, and tick Display description on course page<\/em> so it appears on the page.<\/li>
  4. Upload your file by dragging it into the upload area or by using the file selector.<\/li>
  5. When you're done, scroll down and select Save and return to course<\/em>.<\/li><\/ol>

    Adding a folder<\/strong><\/p>

    Now let\u2019s add a folder.<\/p>

    Say I want to share the Week 1 slides in both PowerPoint and PDF format, so students can choose the version they prefer. I can group these files in a folder.<\/p>

    1. With Edit mode<\/em> still on, go to where you want your folder to appear, select the plus sign and choose Activity or resource<\/em>. From the list, choose Folder<\/em> and select Add<\/em>.<\/li>
    2. Add a name and description, and tick Display description on course page<\/em> to let students know what\u2019s inside. For example I\u2019ll write: \u201cIn this folder, you\u2019ll find a copy of the slides for Week 1 in PowerPoint and PDF format.\u201d<\/li>
    3. You can now upload your files. Here I\u2019m dragging and dropping the two files, but you can also use the file selector. When you are done, scroll down and select Save and return to course<\/em>.<\/li><\/ol>
