1 Data Assumptions

  • Data is based on births within Hywel Dda to Hywel Dda and non-Hywel Dda residents which were recorded as consultant led on the maternity system.

  • Births between 01/04/2021 and 31/03/2022 were included.

  • Births outside Hywel Dda were not included as there was insufficient information to identify the split between midwife and consultant led care.

  • The table below shows all births by type, of which 2,438 are consultant led:

  • The table below shows the 2,437 consultant led births by hospital site and resident LHB:

  • The table below shows the split of births by type and hospital site for residents in SA14, SA15, SA16, SA18 and SA19:

  • The table below shows the split of the 621 consultant led births by registered GP practice for residents in SA14, SA15, SA16, SA18 and SA19:

  • Where there are blank (or white) areas on the maps within Hywel Dda, this is due to there being no activity for that area, or postcodes that have not matched to an LSOA code – although these should be minimal.
