If the answers to research questions were obvious, there would be no need for specially trained professionals to answer them. The most important research discoveries are usually the ones that require the researcher to see and understand things others cannot.

When researchers sort out and attempt to make sense of their research findings, they are expected to be creative and use their imaginations – however, they must do so with honesty and transparency.

Appreciating that there are a wide variety of research methods, this module provides an introduction to the interpretive process, sorting out the general differences between responsible and irresponsible practice. It covers:

Selecting the information that will be used for analysis

Analysing the information to present findings or draw conclusions

Presenting your findings in ways others will understand.
