Where to Go
Some of the world's oldest and most magnificent sites may be found in Egypt. Although the enormous pyramids on the Giza Plateau are well-known to all, Egypt is much more than just the pyramids. The pyramids in Saqqara and Dahshur, which are less well-known but more enjoyable to visit, are well worth the day trip from Cairo. Additionally, you can spend a day or two seeing Old Cairo, visiting Cairo's churches and mosques, and learning about Egyptian history at the Egyptian Museum.
A pleasant day excursion from Cairo is Alexandria, which is situated on the Mediterranean Sea.
Luxor is home to the massive Karnak Temple and the Temple of Luxor, in addition to the beautifully painted tombs of the ancient Egyptian kings and queens. There are so many tombs and temples in the West Bank that it would take days to visit them all. It is among the biggest outdoor museums on the planet.
