Terrorism is a term used widely for many different things across the Earth in mostnation states and has had, the United states has multiple definitions for example the FBI (Federal Beaurau of Investigation) has differing definitons than that of the Patriot act, terrorism seems to mostly concern large organisations that exist across the world for instance, Al-Qaeda, the Taliban, ISIS/ISIL (Islamic State of Iraq and Syria / Islamic State of IRaq and the Levant) and the IRA (the Irish Republican Army). Section 802 of the USA PATRIOT Act defines terrorisms as: “intimidate or coerce a civilian population, influence the policy of a government by intimidation or coercion or to affect the conduct of a government by mass destruction, assasination or kidnapping” while the FBI has two definitions of terrorism one for Domestic and one for international terrorism, for donmestic terrorism: “Violent, criminal acts committed by individuals and/or groups to further ideological goals stemming from domestic influences, such as thopse of a politicasl, religious, social, racist or environmentall nature” these definitions seem to slightly contradict or leave put pieces of the other which makes it seem as if there are differing opinions for what the defnitions of terrorism really is and how to define it,, the FBI’s international definition is: “Violent, criminal acts committed by individuals and/or groups who are inspired by, or associated with, designated foreign terrorist organisations or nations (state-spnsored)” these definitions all come from the United States and are each in their own way a definition for terrorism even if it seems they cant really put a firm sance on what they’re tourist definition should be and therefore they use all tree different version and even a few more, the Euroopean Union doesnt have a set definition of terrorism however their accepted term use follows the same standard as the FBI’s definition of international terrorism. ISIS is an extremist Sunni Islam organisation that seeks to establish a worldwide Islamic Caliphate like the ones of old, they wish for all Muslims to be united under ne banner and their own interpretation of the Quran and islam in general, ISIS/ISIL was founder by Abu Musab al-Zarqawi and follow the doctrine of Salafi Jihadism, which espouses a more direct push to defeat those threats to Islam such as in their eyeas every other religion and even other sects of Islam, not to be mistake for the Salafi movement wich has a focus on th estudy of Islam and espuse none of the vitriolic rhetoric of the Salafi-Jihadist movement, Abu Musal al-Zarqawi utilised his raise in famke form the United nations address that mentione his name 21 times to attempt to foment a civil war and to rally more Sunni Muslims to his cause, tghuis allwoed him as well as the looming US invasion to conduct sectarian war which would flare the4 skirmishes into full blown sectarian war between the Sunni who were fallling to jihadist rhetoric and the Shia who were attempting revenge for the pain Zarqawi caused in the opening attacks, Osama Bin Laden who was the leader of Al-Qaeda didn not agree with Zarqawi’s actions, Osama Bin Ladens deputy Ayman al-Zwahiri wrote: “Many of your Muslim admirers are wondering about your attacks on the Shia. The sharpness of this questioning increases when the attacks are on one of their mosques … My opinion is this matter won’t be acceptable to the Muslim populace, however much you try to explain it, and aversion to this will continue.” This shows us that even the extremists in other ‘terrorist’ organisations did not condone his actions, seeing him and his followers as more sextremist than is needed, during the civil war he made Zarqawi would proclaim an Islamic State and would utilise a propaganda video 34 minutes long to show this and in turn spit in the face of Osama Bin Laden as he pushed for an Islamic State even before Al-Qaeda did which pushed his influence even higher and would allow his proclamation of a global Caliphate to be heard by Muslims across the world, Zarqawi would two months later form his proclamation be killed in an airstrike north of Baghdad and would later be identified by his tattoo remnants, despite his death his followers would hide away and in 2011 when the US military leaves they would begin to rebuild under Abu Bakr al-Baghdadi who would follow in Zarqawi's footsteps and follow his ideology. ISIS had many sub leader and deputies in various different nations around the Middle East and india and they all serve the self styled Caliph and will utilise their growing base in the middle east to proclaim a jihad and wage war upon the surrounding nations in 2015 ISIL held a territory from western Iraq to easern Syria that contained eight to twelve million people inside its area of control within which they enforced their own interpretation of the Sharia Law that is inherent in Islam of all styles, according to estmates the Islamic state could fields two hundred throusand fighters at the height of their power. The Islamic States methods of popularity gains are to show videos of such vile and gruesome things as beheadings and murders, executions of all kinds alongside bombings and sucicide bombing which engendered a lot of hatred from the nstive popuilation of the areas hit as well as seemingly adoration form ‘some’ muslims as they are fighting the good fight in their eyes and for Islam as a whole. ISIL’s action across the globe since its founding have already done thighs that the FBI definition above would find and class as a terrorist organisation and as such with regards to the other definitions even the recognised EU version of lack of one still denotes ISIS/ISIL as a terrorist organisation and I believe they should keep that title as it serums to be and is true across the world that they are terrorists, even for other ilmaic groups such as Al-Qaeda climbing they are far too ist.extreme.
