In this video, we\u2019ll look at how to manage sections on your Moodle course page using the Tiles<\/em> format. You\u2019ll learn how to add new tiles, rename them, change their image or icon, move them, and hide or delete them when needed.<\/p>

Adding a new tile<\/strong><\/p>

Let\u2019s start with adding a new tile. To do this, make sure Edit mode<\/em> is switched on. Then scroll to where you want to add a new tile and select Add section<\/em>. This will create a new tile, which you can customise. To rename a tile, select the three dots (\u22ee) next to the tile name and choose Edit settings<\/em>. Type in your new title and, if you want, add some details of what the section contains in the Description field<\/em>. When you are done, select Save changes<\/em>.<\/p>

Changing a tile image<\/strong><\/p>

Next, let\u2019s look at how to change the image or icon for a tile. While in Edit mode<\/em>, select the icon or image to the left of the tile title. A dialog window will open, giving you the option to choose a new icon, display a number, or upload an image. To add an image, select Upload new photo<\/em> and follow the instructions to upload your file.<\/p>

If you\u2019re using an image, keep it simple. Avoid images with text or busy designs, as these can make the tile title difficult to read. The recommended size for tile images is 300x200 pixels (or bigger images with the same ratio).<\/p>

Moving a tile<\/strong><\/p>

To move a tile, open the Course index<\/em> while in Edit mode<\/em> and drag the section to a new position. Alternatively, select the three dots (\u22ee) next to the tile and then Move<\/em>. A dialog window will open. Here, choose the section you'd like the tile to appear after.<\/p>

Hiding a tile<\/strong><\/p>

To hide a tile, select the three dots (\u22ee) and choose Hide<\/em>. This is useful if you're still working on a section or want to release content later.<\/p>

Deleting a tile<\/strong><\/p>

To delete a tile, select the three dots (\u22ee) and choose Delete<\/em>. Keep in mind that this will permanently remove both the tile and its contents, so only use this option if you're absolutely sure the material is no longer needed!<\/p>
