Meet the Characters
Over the course of his career, Rhys has lent his voice to several characters. Here are a few of his favourites.
Danuja Watanabe: The Ultimate Knight
Danuja Watanabe is a side character in an upcoming fan project based on the critically acclaimed video game series, Danganronpa.
He is a brave knight who is always seeking his damsel in distress. He is however, not a real knight and is simply so obsessed with a man named Hansuke, to the point that when he joked about him being a knight, he took it seriously and ran with it.
But despite this, he's still a loyal and noble individual who's willing to give everything to protect his comrades.
Christopher Wrean/Nirvantir
Christopher Wrean is a major character in the plot of the video game "Meta Revelations", a Drakon who took the form of a man after his kind was hunted down by society.
"Christopher Wrean - a sailor deckhand in the video game 'Meta Revelations'. He is a man that appears to know a little bit too much.
Nirvantir, the Golden Crown is a stag-like Drakon (the Meta Revelations terminology for a ‘Dragon’) had stories sung in old folks tales that turned a poor man wealthy overnight due to the sudden abundance of coins left in his coffer.
However, while none of this is proven. What is true is that he had a unrelenting curiosity for those that defiled both him and his kind.
Among the races of winged man - the raven and the non-winged:- the humans, both had decided between themselves that such manipulators of the Drakon were taboo. And thus, the Drakon were defiled, Nirvantir himself was looked down upon.
And manipulators the Drakon were. They had already adapted to their slaughter. Some as flowers and plants, some as animals. But for Nirvantir, being as curious as he was wanted to see inside the minds of those who thought ill of him. Not out of revenge, but merely out of curiosity."- Zephyr, creator of Meta Revelations, after being asked about the personality of Christopher/Nirvantir.
Mero Vasu
Mero Vasu is a side character in a webtoons comic titled "I think my school is full of muderers".
"So Mero! Geez where do I even begin with the guy? When you first see him in the comic, he seems like someone you wouldn’t quite find yourself talking to, or even liking.
He seems closed off, cold, distant, and has the sarcasm of a thousand angsty teens, but surprisingly, he isn’t that bad!
As the comic progresses, we as the reader get to see why mero is the way he is- He loves his friends and want to keep them safe. Yes, he may always second guess something but it’s for the good of the team (the team being his friends).
While there isn’t too much about him, we can all tell that he is a good friend, loyal to his group, and overall a good person!
The main reason why Kelly and I picked you to voice Mero is because you clearly portray his anger and deep passion for things, but we all had a feeling that you could easily show his love for others as well." -Miko, leader of the Comic dub, upon being asked about the personality of Mero
