Independent Roastery · Whitcombe-on-Sea

Coffee roasted in small batches, twelve steps from the harbour wall.

We buy directly from six growing communities, roast in drums no larger than 12kg, and sell every bag within a fortnight of roasting. No middlemen, no mystery blends — just traceable coffee, roasted honestly.

Every batch we roast is logged like this one — so we can repeat it, or improve it, on purpose rather than by accident.

What we roast

Three ways into the cup

Single Origins

Rotating lots from named farms and cooperatives, roasted to show the character of the place they came from rather than to fit a house style.

House Blends

Three consistent blends — Quayside, Lighthouse Dark, and Slack Tide Decaf — built to taste the same in March as they did in November.

Our story, briefly

From a single drum roaster to a local favourite

Harborlight began in 2016 when our founder, Miriam Okafor, converted a fisherman's shed on Quayside Row into a one-drum roastery. Ten years on we still roast on that same stretch of harbour front, now with a small team and a slightly larger roaster.

“It's the only bag of coffee I've bought where the label tells you who grew it, who roasted it, and when — and it actually tastes different each time because of it.” — Regular customer, Whitcombe-on-Sea Saturday Market
