PART A – Campus Club Management System (Database)

This folder contains the full implementation of the Campus Club Management System (CCMS) database, developed as part of the coursework to demonstrate relational database design, normalisation, and implementation of key database features.

Included Files

CCMS.sql
A complete SQL script that creates and populates the ccms_db database. The script includes:
• Database and table creation
• Primary and foreign key constraints
• Sample data insertion
• Stored procedures with transactional logic
• Triggers for audit logging
• Indexes for performance optimisation

CCMS_Statements.txt
A plain-text version of the CCMS.sql script, provided for easy viewing and reference.

CCMS_ERD.png
An Entity-Relationship Diagram (ERD) illustrating the full data model, including all tables, attributes, keys, and relationships. This visual representation supports understanding of the schema structure and data flow.

How to Deploy the Database

Launch MySQL via phpMyAdmin or the MySQL command-line interface.

Execute the CCMS.sql file.

Note:

The script creates a database named ccms_db.

If ccms_db already exists, it will be dropped and recreated to ensure a clean setup.

The database schema is normalised to Third Normal Form (3NF) to minimise redundancy and enhance data integrity.

Testing and Demonstration

No external application code is required to evaluate Part A. All database functionality—including stored procedures, triggers, and data integrity, has been tested and demonstrated using SQL queries. Evidence of this testing is provided through annotated query outputs and screenshots within the accompanying report.
