Kamila Pausz Business and Management year 1 Drinking milk: good or bad for human health? We have been told for years that drinking milk has many advantages. (1) Contains a lot of calcium, is a good source of vitamins B, B1, A, D. However, scientists from Harvard University did not support these opinions. According to Daniel Reid “Tao of Health” (2) pasteurization of milk destroys its natural enzymes causing colic, rashes, and respiratory diseases. In the imuPro test, casein also called milk protein is the main allergen. Casein produces homocysteine, which blocks the veins and contributes to cardiovascular disease. We have had some good news as researches in Norway(3) has confirmed that linoleic acid is particularly valuable as it affects cancer cell inhibition. Finally, We can say that consuming milk has a positive and negative impact on human health. However, we need to remember that we have lots of different sources of vitamins, and calcium such as soya, almond and hazelnut milk. 1. Soerensen KV, Thorning TK, Astrup A, Kristensen M, Lorenzen JK.
