About Mint Linux

The initial release of Mint Linux was on the 27th August 2006.Mint Linux is a great choice of operating system especially for beginners to Linux as it offers a similar desktop experience to Windows. Mint linux is based on Debian and Ubuntu and provides over 30,000 packages and a software manager. The operating system is safe and reliable thanks to a unique update manager and the robustness of the Linux architecture. It requires very little maintenance and no antivirus or antispyware. It is open source, completely free of charge with full multimedia support and is incredibly easy to use. The project was created by Clement Lerebrve and is actively developed by the Linux Mint Team and community. The current version of Mint is 19.1 "Tessa" (cinnamon Edition).
