00:00:02.600 --> 00:00:06.400
Welcome to this course on equality, diversity and inclusion.

00:00:07.000 --> 00:00:07.700
In this course,

00:00:07.800 --> 00:00:11.700
we’ll introduce you to what equality, diversity and inclusion mean

00:00:11.900 --> 00:00:14.300
and why they’re so important for the university,

00:00:14.600 --> 00:00:16.200
and for you as an individual.

00:00:17.000 --> 00:00:20.200
We’ll look at the equality legislation that’s been put in place

00:00:20.500 --> 00:00:22.700
to help ensure people are treated fairly.

00:00:23.200 --> 00:00:26.500
And we’ll explore some of the issues and barriers you may encounter

00:00:26.900 --> 00:00:29.000
and look at what you can do to overcome these.

00:00:29.600 --> 00:00:32.700
We’ll focus throughout on practical guidance and advice,

00:00:33.100 --> 00:00:35.300
so you won’t get bogged down with details.

00:00:35.600 --> 00:00:38.200
But, if you do want to dig deeper at any point,

00:00:38.400 --> 00:00:41.200
