I have experienced incidents where miscommunication has caused issues that would not have happened if we had communicated effectively. An example of miscommunication I have experienced is recently when I had a GP appointment sent to me in the post for a certain time and date. I assumed this was confirmation my appointment so I went ahead at the time specified on the letter. once I arrived at the surgery I informed the receptionist of my arrival she then informed me I had missed my appointment to which I was shocked and confused as I had a letter with me stating the time my appointment was booked for. once I showed my letter to the receptionist she explained that they had tried to contact me on my mobile number to inform me of the change of appointment time. I did not receive this text message as my phone was broken so I did not receive the new appointment time. This miscommunication caused me to miss an appointment I had waited weeks for as was a great inconvenience to me as I scheduled me day based on that appointment time.
