Dead island is a survival, horror and action game based on a tropical island of Banoi, where a zombie outbreak occurs. You play as four individual characters who are trapped on the island and need to find a way to escape the zombie outbreak.
The game begins the morning after a high profiled party, the four characters rapper Sam B., hotel desk clerk Xian Mei, former football star Logan, and bodyguard Purnaare awakened by a voice over the emergency intercom system directing them to evacuate the hotel. They soon discover that the island has been taken over by contagious infection that has affected the majority of the island. The infected have turn in to zombie like creatures that have begun attacking holiday goes and infecting and eating them alive. On escaping the hotel they are overrun by infected and are saved by a life guard John Sinamoi, who believes you are all immune to the infection. After helping the life guard and other surviving guests reach a safe place to hide out from the infected at the life guard station, the life guard calls for help over the radio well awaiting rescue. The life guard calls upon the four protagonists to head to the city to collect supplies well await to be rescue from the island. You met various people along the way, who either live on the island or are guests just like your self’s whom assist you on you travel for the return for numerous favours.
