Task 2: Reflection

Choosing my top values was difficult because I believe many values are important in life. It was especially hard to remove kindness, fairness, and responsibility because they help us build positive relationships with others. However, I chose honesty, respect, and resilience as my three core values because they reflect who I am and how I want to live my life.

My values come from my family and personal experiences. My mother taught me the importance of hard work and resilience, while my grandmother encouraged me never to give up and always try my best. Living in Romania, Italy, and the UK has also taught me the importance of honesty and respect when interacting with people from different cultures and backgrounds.

These three core values influence my behaviour and decisions every day. Honesty encourages me to be truthful, take responsibility for my actions, and build trust with others. Respect reminds me to listen to people, accept differences, and treat everyone fairly. Resilience helps me stay strong and keep trying when I face challenges, such as language barriers or difficulties at work. Instead of giving up, I try to learn from my experiences and improve myself.

My values also influence how I work with and understand other people. I believe honesty creates trust, respect promotes inclusion, and resilience helps me remain patient during difficult situations. These values encourage me to support my colleagues, avoid judging others, and appreciate different perspectives. By following my three core values, I hope to build positive relationships and contribute to a workplace where everyone feels respected, trusted, and valued.

1. Family – My wife and two daughters are my motivation for everything.

2. Honesty – I believe in being truthful, even when it is difficult.

3. Respect – Everyone deserves to be treated with dignity, no matter their background.

4. Responsibility – I take my duties as a father, husband, and worker seriously.

5. Resilience – Moving countries and changing jobs taught me to never give up.

Reflection

My top 3 values—family, respect, and resilience—come directly from my life experiences.

Family is central because I grew up with Romanian roots where family is everything. Now, as a husband and father, I work hard as a driver so my daughters can have a better life.

Respect comes from living in four countries—Hungary, Turkey, Italy, and the UK. I know what it feels like to be judged by my accent or background. This taught me to treat everyone with dignity, no matter where they come from.

Resilience comes from 15 years in construction and many job changes. I learned to adapt, solve problems, and never give up. When things are hard, I remember why I keep going—my family.

These values shape my decisions. When I choose a job, I ask: "Will this be good for my family?" When I meet new people, I show respect. When life is difficult, I stay resilient. This is who I am.
