by Nikki Lotiwan.

The strategic approach to managing an organization's most valuable asset—its people—is known as human resource management, or HRM. It changes the emphasis from straightforward management to considering workers as a source of competitive advantage. Important ideas include: Strategic Alignment: Making sure HR practices, such as hiring and training, directly contribute to the organization's long-term objectives. Recruiting, selecting, and successfully onboarding the best candidate for a position are all part of acquisition and talent management. Development: Emphasizing training to close skill gaps and get staff ready for leadership positions in the future. Performance & Reward: Using performance reviews to give feedback and motivating people by tying outcomes to pay, benefits, and incentives. Employee relations: preserving a positive work environment, making sure regulations are followed, and overseeing the "psychological contract".

In large organisations, HRM is more structured with separate department handling training , performance management and long term work force planning , employee relation and HRM is well organised , with separate HR teams responsible for the recruitment , staff development .

by Vishal Sanjay Sapkal.

Two concept in HRM

i) Small Organization.

ii)Large Organization.

1)Small Organization.

Structure: Often informal, with one person acting as a generalist handling everything from hiring to payroll.

Focus: Reactive; immediate needs like hiring or compliance issues.

Culture: High direct involvement from owners; rapid, flexible decision-making.

Resources: Limited budget, relying on streamlined software or manual proces

2) Large Organization

Structure: Dedicated, specialized HR departments (e.g., Talent Acquisition, Compensation).

Focus: Proactive and strategic; long-term talent strategy, culture development, and workforce planning.

Culture: Standardized, formalized policies to ensure consistency across teams.

Resources: Significant, using sophisticated technology for data analytics and automation.
