Critical Incidents Literature Forum 2026-27

Please use this forum to share your thoughts about readings for this module.
There are four specific readings below with their own discussion forums and questions to answer. This section is not for those!
Each week, I would like you to use this forum to contribute your thoughts and questions on any other readings as you see fit- you can use some of the questions or structure that I gave you for the others or use your own.
Below there are many links to recommended reading in relation to each assessment. These have been selected as potential starting points (not end points!) for lines of enquiry that might be useful. You should see them as being indicative of the kind of literature that you should be engaging with but you should seek to investigate and research beyond these primers.
You can use this forum for those readings given OR if you have found any additional resources or further reading that you think may be of use for others on the module.
I have no intention of checking you have completed any reading over the coming weeks, the choice is yours, but starting to engage with critical reading and reviewing of literature will help develop the skills you need to succeed at this level of study and not just in this module!

by Holly Walker.

Casual overview of Saxetenbach disaster. The creator doesn’t have a background in adventure activities but it’s a fairly well-researched introduction to the events leading to and during the incident. The creator also covers a lot of other adventure incidents too! Please ignore how morbid they make the intro sound.
