Don't forget the exam this coming weekend- the format is similar to the time tests (though longer and there is a translation section at the end. Please keep an eye on time...). Please see the slide under week 3c for exact details. Good luck!

time test 2 results

I have directly emailed people with their time test 2 results. Below are some general issues that came up. Keep plugging away everyone but also have a nice Christmas break!

Pay attention to whether singular or plural needed: e.g. if addressee is plural and you need “your”, then use part of “vester” rather than “tuus”.

Loqueris can be present or future.

Preposition “apud” takes the accusative.

Dative of advantage: e.g. giving to someone.

Watch for verbs that take the dative (e.g. minor; credo).

Independent clause: one that can stand independently and is not the sub-clause.

Bringing into: needs “in” plus accusative.

“What [of]”: partitive genitive.

In regards to ACI (accusative and infinitive construction): subject accusative e.g. the king orders the man [man is subject accusative]; he says that the man is good [man is subject accusative]

For the whole of a period: accusative.

Possessive dative: dative indicates the noun has a “belonging to”

Ablative of description e.g. the woman of the highest virtue

Subjective infinitive e.g. “to err” in “to err is human”.
