Hi everyone,

My name is Melania Gaina, but everyone calls me Mel. I am currently based in Magor, South Wales.
I worked for DHL for the past 10 years in various operational and managerial roles. Recently, I have started building my own wedding videography business, inspired by my passion for filmmaking and storytelling.
I chose to study the MBA to expand my business knowledge, strengthen my leadership skills and gain the strategic insight needed to develop my company further.
A fun fact about me: no matter how many weddings I have filmed, I still get very emotional during the speeches!

Step 1: Programme Handbook
• Who is on the MBA team?
• The MBA managers are Helen Evans and Marie Pitson. The external examiners are Mr Julian Campbell and Dr Caxton Okoh.
• What’s the pass mark for a module?
The pass mark is 50%.
• What happens if you miss a deadline?
Work submitted up to 1 week late is capped at 50%.
• How do you report Extenuating Circumstances?
In order to report Extenuating Circumstances students have two options: submitting and application via MyTSD or you can also seek advice from Student Services and your Programme Manager.
• What is Academic Misconduct and how is it handled?
Academic Misconduct is defined by any action that hat gives (or could give) an unfair advantage in assessment or undermines academic integrity. In the event of an academic misconduct, the case is handled through a few steps: report, initial investigation, decision route, outcome and penalties, review and appeal, support and adjustments.

Activity 4: Reflecting on Your Induction
During the Induction journey I enjoyed getting to know more about the programme structure and support routes. I was surprised by the range of digital tools and flexibility particularly the online library. I am looking forward to learn more as we deep dive into our first module, collaborating on projects and I cannot wait to apply what we learn on my day to day business activities.
