Harwood examines the many facets of parenting practices and their effects on the experiences and development of young athletes by synthesising the body of available information.&lt;/span&gt;&lt;/p&gt;
&lt;p&gt;&lt;span&gt; &lt;/span&gt;&lt;/p&gt;
&lt;p&gt;&lt;span&gt;Harwood starts off by emphasising the important role parents have in determining their kids' participation in and experiences with sports. The author divides parenting behaviours into several categories, from overbearing and demanding to supporting and loving, based on research in sports science and psychology.&lt;/span&gt;&lt;/p&gt;
