by Holly Jaqueline Burr.

A stakeholder is anybody who can effect or is effected by an organisation, strategy or project, they can be internal or external and they can be at senior or junior levels, I have chosen a health care company and the stake holders range from operations and manufacturing staff who maintain product quality efficiency and safety they ensure the product aligns with regulatory requirements and ethical supply chain practises, to also employees and workforce who contribute to the company's culture and operational success, thier engagement and satisfaction influence productivity and innovation.

by Galyna Vovk.

What is your general idea of a stakeholder, who are they? What are their roles and responsibilities in a firm? In my view, a stakeholder is any individual or group that is affected by or has an interest in a company’s activities. This includes employees, customers, suppliers, the local community, and even the government. Their role is to influence and be impacted by the decisions a business makes. Some stakeholders help the business grow (like employees or investors), while others hold the company accountable for its social and ethical responsibilities.

2. Choose a company and explain who could be their stakeholders? Why are they important? Does the company really need them and why?

Let’s take Tesco as an example. Its stakeholders include:

            • Customers – they provide revenue and feedback.

            • Employees – they ensure the company runs daily.

            • Suppliers – they provide products and goods.

            • Local communities – they care about Tesco’s environmental and social behaviour.

            • Government and regulators – they set legal frameworks.

All of these stakeholders are important. Without satisfied employees, loyal customers, and reliable suppliers, Tesco wouldn’t survive. Stakeholders influence public trust, reputation, and long-term success.

3. Are you a stakeholder at UWTSD? Justify your answer.

Yes, I am a stakeholder at UWTSD. As a student, I am directly affected by the university’s decisions about education quality, course content, and support services. My success depends on how well UWTSD delivers its programs, and at the same time, I contribute to the university’s reputation and performance through my academic engagement.
