by Genora Oben.

Inductive reasoning is a logical process that draws general conclusions from specific observations or experiences. It’s often called “bottom-up” reasoning because it progresses from particular instances to broader generalisations.

One question and one hypothesis around health and social care

by Vitalina Kraievska.

Research Question:

How do social and economic factors affect the high rates of cardiovascular disease in Newham?

Hypothesis: People living in low-income areas with poor housing conditions and limited access to health care are more likely to suffer from cardiovascular disease.

Evidence to Support the Hypothesis:
Social determinants of health (income, education, housing) strongly influence health outcomes.
Higher levels of deprivation are linked to: unhealthy diets, less physical activity, higher stress levels.
Increased demand and pressure on the National Health Service can lead to:
delays in diagnosis and treatment
Research shows some ethnic groups (including South Asian and Black communities) have a higher risk of heart disease.
Rising population and healthcare demand in Newham contribute to limited access to timely care.
