by Cristi Vantu.

Soft Skill: Communication

Communication is the ability to share information, ideas, and feelings clearly and respectfully, while also listening carefully to others.

Communication is important because it helps people understand one another, solve problems, and build strong relationships. In the workplace, good communication improves teamwork, reduces misunderstandings, and helps people achieve their goals. In everyday life, it allows us to express our needs, respect different opinions, and resolve conflicts peacefully.

by Musa Bamwine.

Soft skills are personal and interpersonal abilities that help individuals communicate, collaborate and succeed in academia.

They include communication, teamwork, critical thinking, time management and problem-solving.

Soft skills are crucial because they improve academic performance, build positive relationships and prepare students for employment.

In health and social care, soft skills promote safe, respectful and person-centred care.

Communication is one essential soft skill that helps care workers understand individuals’ needs and share information effectively.

For example, listening patiently to a person with dementia promotes trust, dignity, understanding and quality care.
