by Florence Chijioke Oguledo.

Self-determination is the ability of an individual to make their own choices, control their own life, and decide their own path without external influence or pressure.
In Health and Social Care, self-determination means empowering service users and patients to:
Make informed decisions regarding their own care, treatment, and lifestyle.
Maintain independence and autonomy over their personal goals and daily routines.
Have their choices respected, ensuring care is person-centered and respects human dignity.

What are Autonomy, Mastery, and Purpose?

by Florence Chijioke Oguledo.

According to( Daniel Pink's Framework) Autonomy is the desire to direct our own lives and work. In a career, this means having ownership over tasks, time, technique, or team.

Mastery is the urge to get better at something that matters. It requires effort, deliberate practice, and a growth mindset.

Purpose is the yearning to do what we do in the service of something larger than ourselves .Connecting daily tasks to a broader meaningful outcome.
