Same techniques which are used to verify online content are used to check the bias and misinformation in digital media. i.e. SIFT and CRAAP. other factors that highlight the biasness in information is the tone, verbal attitude, expression, body language and personal or professional relation.

Source authentication checks, cross media checks, local and international news checks are some general factors of verifying online content. Besides that there are some techniques for it too like SIFT (Source, Investigate, Find, Trace), and CRAAP (Currency, Relevance, Authority, Accuracy, Purpose).
