Dissertation forum for Activity 1.1 - First thoughts on which Outputs I will explore (30 minutes)

Once you've had a look at the three different project possibilities: Dissertations, Practice Based projects or Portfolios of Applied or Creative work.
Select which project outcome you found resonated with you the most. What was it about this that caught your eye? Was it in the Dissertation projects folder; the Practice folder or in the Applied portfolio folder?
Now in this Discussion Forums for the Projects you looked at write a sentence or two about the Project you identified by responding to the following questions:

-What was the title of the Project?
- Was it a Dissertation, Practice or Applied/Creative work?
-What drew you to it? Was it the topic or the type of Output that resonated with you?
-Is it something you are familiar with or the opposite?

And then
Then take a few minutes to look at what one or two other students have posted and perhaps make a comment to them on why you chose to look at their selection and what interested you about it.
Now, if you have time or if you just want to explore more of the other types of Outputs that other students selected, choose another Output to explore and repeat this activity until you have a feel for all three Outputs.

by Rhiannon Trenary.

-What was the title of the Project?

From Crinolines to bustles

- Was it a Dissertation, Practice or Applied/Creative work?

Practice Work

-What drew you to it? Was it the topic or the type of Output that resonated with you?

I've always had an interest in both historical fashion along with daily life of the average person, specifically in the Victorian era, so I thought it would be intriguing to combine that interest with my interest in theatre

-Is it something you are familiar with or the opposite?

I am familiar with it, but I've never gone too in depth in research.

'Dancing with shadows'

- Was it a Dissertation, Practice or Applied/Creative work?

Practice based dissertation

-What drew you to it? Was it the topic or the type of Output that resonated with you?

I want to make my own work in the future to bring to fringe shows/ tour so this is a good opportunity for me to develop my own way of working. The type of output, making a piece of dance, resonated with me because I like dance/ movement pieces.

-Is it something you are familiar with or the opposite?

I am familiar with watch pieces of theatre similar to my idea but not creating my own work.

What was the title of the Project?Leanna Bourke, The Perils and Pleasures of Misreading: Problems of Interpretation in The Faerie Queene, 2013/2014

Was it a Dissertation, Practice or Applied/Creative work? Dissertation

What drew you to it? Was it the topic or the type of Output that resonated with you? I do have an interest in the topic it presents, misreading a script can alter its original message but I want to discover more of the "Perils and Pleasures" of script reading.

Is it something you are familiar with or the opposite? I have had experience with misreading a script, but I am not familiar with how it can be used positively rather than it being fully negative.
