Hi everyone

Welcome to the module HPCS7002 Celtic Arthur and the Mabinogion Tales! Semester 1 starts next week and so I am sending out a welcome message to everyone who has registered on the module. Our first live seminar will be held at 4pm (UK time) on Wednesday 7 October and you should all have received an email with a link to the seminar in Teams. If anyone has not received this, please let me know.

I'd recommend that you get hold of a copy of Sioned Davies's translation of The Mabinogion and that you try to read the first Four Branches to begin with. In next week's session I'll be explaining how the module works, how it will be assessed and what we'll cover. You'll find plenty of reading material in Moodle, but another useful volume for this module is Nerys Ann Jones (ed. and trans.), Arthur in Early Welsh Poetry (MHRA). I look forward to seeing you all next week on 7 October.

Best wishes

Jane
